STEPH TO APPEAR IN "STICK IT" 12 JULY 2005
Steph has gone back into training at MLC for five weeks in preparation for her appearance in the movie 'Stick It' currently in production in the USA. She will travel with Allana Slater, Belinda Archer, Melissa Munro, Aleea Newton and Nadia Fairfax (also former or current Australian elite gymnasts) on Sunday to Los Angeles where they will take part in the motion picture! The invitation was extended by National Coach Peggy Liddick and Steph is very excited for the opportunity!
Stephanie has also been busy working with Gymnastics Australia to help promote the upcoming 2005 World Championships, helping the rowers at the VIS with cross-training, and giving promotional talks to various groups. She is also excited to be heading to her school formal just before leaving for the USA!

A NOTE FOR ALL VISITORS 28 AUGUST 2004
Throughout August Stephanie has received many questions and requests for information from fans and particularly school children throughout Australia. Stephanie is still in Athens enjoying the final days of the Olympic Games and looking forward to marching in the Closing Ceremony and she is not in a position to be able to reply to these questions and requests until she returns. We realise that this may be a little late for students seeking specific information for projects about favourite Olympians or Olympic sports but we hope that you were able to find much of the information you were seeking through this website. The webmaster has been collating all of your messages and questions for Stephanie and will be forwarding them to her on her return from Athens. That said the volume of mail that has been received coupled with Stephanie's schedule might mean that it could take some time before all of your questions are answered. Thankyou for your overwhelming support. Stephanie has been able to log-in into her website while in Athens and we are sure that she has been extremely touched by all of the messages in her guestbook!
For students still seeking information about Stephanie and gymnastics in general, why not drop by GYMNASTICS AUSTRALIA SCHOOL PROJECT INFORMATION posted on their website at the beginning of the Olympic Games.
TOP 20 FINISH FOR STEPH! 21 AUGUST 2004
As expected late withdrawals from Romania's Oana Ban and Stephanie Victorian teammate Monette Russo opened the door for Stephanie to compete in her first major all around final. Eventually taking the place of the Romanian gymnast who qualified in 4th place for the final, Stephanie competed in the group of athletes containing gymnasts who finished 1-6 in the preliminary round (Svetlana Khorkina, Carly Patterson, Zhang Nan etc etc ... very exciting!). Stephanie did not know until five minutes before the start of the competition that she would be competing and then she was the first gymnast up on her first aparatus, vault! Not everything went entirely to plan having to count a fall but she improved her ranking from prelims to finish 20th overall! Ann Moorhouse checked in from Athens via email and the whole family could not be prouder of what Stephanie and the girls have achieved! Congratulations Steph ... and to Allana Slater who finished in 10th place! The whole Australian team now look forward to seeing Allana match it with the best in the beam final!
INJURIES TO RUSSO AND BAN MIGHT PRESENT OPPORTUNITY FOR STEPH 19 AUGUST 2004
Steph's Victorian teammate Monette Russo has been suffering throughout her Olympic campaign with injury. A stress fracture to her leg looks almost certain to rule her out of contention for the all around final that she qualified for earlier in the week. Following the qualification round Stephanie was ranked 31st. With two members of her team ahead of her it looked very unlikely that she would compete in the all around final. Russo's unforunate withdrawal and injury worries to the second Romanian qualifier, have the door has opened ever so slightly for Stephanie. She may just get the chance to compete in an Olympic all around final. A very disappointing outcome for Monette but we are pretty sure she would love to see a fellow Aussie and Victorian competing if she is unable to take her place! We will keep you posted!
8th PLACE FOR THE AUSSIE GIRLS 18 AUGUST 2004
The Aussie women lined up alongside the other strongest womens gymnastics nations overnight in the Olympic Team Final. The tough 6-3-3 format took its toll on the team with the girls counting some costly errors but the girls seemed overjoyed at the opportunity to even compete in the final and should be very proud of all they achieved. An injury to Steph's Victorian teammate Monette Russo meant a few last minute changes to the Australian line-ups. Stephanie competed on balance beam (9.187) and floor exercise (9.032). She improved on her scores from the preliminary round on both events and on beam posted the highest score for the Australian team. Congratulations to Stephanie and all of the girls for a wonderful round of competition!
AUSTRALIAN WOMEN 8TH / STEPHANIE 31ST AFTER PRELIMS 16 AUGUST 2004
The Australian team will compete in the Women's Team Final in Athens after qualifying in 8th place overnight! Stephanie competed on all four events for the team, taking on the important lead-off role for the team. She had a solid competition going through without major error to post the 31st best all around score (36.224) of the preliminary round: vault 8.875, uneven bars 9.337, balance beam 9.162 and floor exercise 8.850. Congratulations on a great round Steph and goodluck to all of the girls in the team final. Special mention to Allana Slater and Monette Russo for qualifying to the all around final and to Allana who has made the beam final!
STEPHANIE TO LEAD-OFF ON FOUR EVENTS 14 AUGUST 2004
The Australian team have announced their lineups for the preliminary round of competition scheduled for tomorrow. Stephanie will contribute on all four aparatus and importantly will lead the team off on every event. Since our last update the Australian team suffered the lose of one of its team members. Danielle Kelly QAS suffered a leg injury and was forced to return home before Podium Training. She has been replaced with Steph's Victorian teammate Karen Nguyen. Goodluck to Stephanie and all of the Australian women in prelims! The Australian will compete in the following order:
FLOOR EXERCISE: MOORHOUSE, MUNRO, RUSSO, SLATER, NGUYEN
VAULT: MOORHOUSE, NGUYEN, MUNRO, RUSSO, SLATER
UNEVEN BARS: MOORHOUSE, RUSSO, SKINNER, SLATER, NGUYEN
BALANCE BEAM: MOORHOUSE, MUNRO, SLATER, RUSSO, SKINNER
ON THE ROAD TO ATHENS 05 AUGUST 2004
